running for my life
It has been a really long time since I went for a long slow run so I put on my running shoes and hit the road late yesterday evening. It took me quite a while before I managed to ease into a comfortable pace. My whole body relaxed, my limbs are moving freely and running now become a fluid motion. Over the next 50mins, I pounded leaves strewn forest floor, tarmac roads, green freshly cut grass and on dusty dirt paths in farmlands. The vast farmlands and no high rise within sight, the whole route was so spacious and empty. Every breath I took in felt like freedom; breathing new life into me. The run was fantastic. I found a new meaning for "running for my life".

national geographic
I just read an old issue of the National Geographic (NG) and it must have rekindled my fascination for anything NG. The beautiful photos and the interesting articles simply blew me away. As a result, I spent the whole of today watching National Geographic videos on youtube. It didn't matter that my back is aching from sitting on the rigid wooden for the whole day. I witnessed how japanese honey bees attack a wasp by swarming it and constantly vibrating and raising the temperature to 170 F frying the wasp to death; how a catfish almost ate a bat and how a tiger seal hunts for a penquin.

verbalize
By not verbalizing what was mutually acknowledged does not help us stop its inevitability. The truth, however, is sometimes too upsetting to confront upfront. As long as we do not make it a point to put it out in words, we can always bottle the truth and throw the bottle out into our pool of self denial; hoping that it will not float back anytime soon. We deny it so that we can hold on the we have now and enjoying the moment for as long as we can for what it is worth, without diluting its value with the uncertainty of the future. I will make it a point to avoid all such talk.

350am
Catching the sunrise at the eiffel tower and having the whole view point all to ourselves. How many people actually get to do that? To the one who woke up at 350am with me in the cold. I know It's a little crazy to wake up so early.
Thank you for being crazy with me.

rose line
Made famous by Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, the rose line (longitude 2°20′14.025″ east) was originally used by the French for mapping and time keeping purposes before being displaced by the Greenwich Meridian. It felt so surreal when I realized that I would be going to the see the original Rose Line.
Inside Saint Sulpice Cathedral, the Rose line would have been missed if an informed friend hadn't pointed it out to me. It was not the way which I had imagined it. After staring at it for a while, it lost its novelty. It's just a line.

no new email
I refreshed the web page once more. There's still no new email. My mind was preoccupied not so much with the project at hand (to design a convertor DC-AC), rather more so with the email that hasn't came. One by one, my friends got accepted into their respective master's program with either a scholarship or a school fees waiver. I have been waiting for 2 weeks now, since the first person received her acceptance letter. Sometimes, I wonder if NUS would just screw me over by not accepting me into their Master;s program and leave me high and dry with no place to go. If that's ever the case.. I thought.. the worst that can happen is that I would have stay in Paris to complete the french degree alone for another 12 months.
Surely do not want that. The loneliness is slowly getting to me.
