Press Release:

This morning our Wheelock store was closed due to a dispute with the landlord. Our lawyers are working with the landlord’s lawyers to resolve this dispute and to get the store back open as soon as possible.

After being a tenant in this building for over 13 years we are extremely disappointed with the actions of the landlord and we are somewhat perplexed with the way they have handled this matter, especially so with a long standing anchor tenant.


Whilst other Borders stores have closed recently in Australia and US, these closures are not in any way linked to the events here in Singapore. We would emphasise that The Borders Singapore business is independent of these businesses and faces its own set of challenges and opportunities.

Borders Singapore continues to trade as usual from its Parkway Parade store, where we have a strong professional relationship with the landlord.

We will keep our customers informed of any changes to the store at Wheelock through notices on our website, as and when they occur.

this is such a sad piece of news for myself
