"If you keep one hand against the wall of a connected maze, you are guaranteed to always find the exit.
This method will work without fail if it is used in any part of a maze where all the walls are connected together or to the outer wall. Nevertheless, many mazes have sections of unconnected walls where employing this technique would lead to following an the same wall segment forever! This means that using this tactic in the middle of a maze may work, but you cannot be certain that you will reach an exit. However, these sorts of disconnected labyrinths will not present a problem if you are able to use this “wall-following” method from the entrance until an exit. If you never become attached to a disconnected wall, you can never get caught in one of these infinite loops."
